Please note: cool, not cold!<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; At the beach or park, <strong> don&#8217;t involve him in particularly strenuous activities, <\/strong>especially if the muggy weather takes over. And this is true in all seasons!<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"I-cani-piu-a-rischio-di-colpo-di-calore\"><strong>Dogs most at risk for heat stroke risks<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Heat stroke in dogs may be more risky for some individuals for whom even more precautions are needed:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Puppies and older dogs, are particularly sensitive subjects<br \/>\n&#8211; Overweight dogs and those <strong>with <\/strong>chronic diseases or respiratory disorders<br \/>\n&#8211; Dogs in convalescence and therefore particularly weak<br \/>\n&#8211; Brachycephalic ones: belonging to this breed are the pug, the Pekingese and those dogs with &#8220;flattened snouts,&#8221; which precisely because of their constitution are more prone to breathing difficulties.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"Cosa-succede-a-un-cane-vittima-di-colpo-di-calore\">What happens to a dog victim of heat stroke<\/h4>\n<p>Your four-legged friend&#8217;s temperature rises (state of hyperthermia), becomes <strong>weakened<\/strong> and begins to show signs of lethargy (fatigue and depression); in severe cases, he or she may experience collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Breathing becomes particularly labored. It is absolutely normal for dogs to pant more in summer; it is a mechanism to balance body temperature and dissipate heat through evaporation.<\/p>\n<p>But one should always be careful if it is a regular &#8220;gasping&#8221; or if it has abnormalities, a symptom of heat stroke.<\/p>\n<p>The dog may show restlessness, <strong>stagger on its paws<\/strong>, and leak drool from its mouth.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"Cosa-fare-se-sospetti-un-colpo-di-calore\">What to do if you suspect heat stroke<\/h4>\n<p>First of all, <strong>rush immediately to the veterinarian<\/strong> &#8216;s office, and on the way put these steps in place:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Move the animal to a <strong>cool, ventilated environment<\/strong> but never in drafts<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Dab the dog with cool water, <strong>NEVER COLD<\/strong>, in the paws, neck and groin area<\/p>\n<p>Heat stroke is an emergency room emergency, and the animal&#8217;s life depends on your prompt action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We
